Every week, the Seeking Alpha community welcomes new authors into our forum. After an author has taken the first steps to establish themselves on the site, we share some of their recent work in our weekly digest. Enjoy the work of our new authors below and follow your favorites. Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

Profile:
I have been a full time short-term trader for 18 years in stocks and futures, trading quantitatively/automatically. Still doing that, that is how I make a living. However, on Seeking Alpha I will concentrate on my other passion: looking for stocks with high potential for long-term appreciation for my savings/retirement. My goal is to pick stocks and never sell them (unless I have to). I eat my own cooking. Norwegian citizen, but resident of Eastern Europe (English is not my mother tongue).
I am not a financial advisor. Please do your own investment research.

Helios And Matheson Is Only Delaying The Inevitable
- After announcing new plans surrounding MoviePass, Helios and Matheson Analytics gained more than 19% Monday throughout the session followed by an additional more than 12% gain after the closing bell.
- The new plan greatly cuts costs by limiting use of the subscription service.
- Recent takeover chatter suggests that a student-run fund may want to take the company private.
- Breaking through the chatter and excitement and breaking down the numbers shows that Helios and Matheson Analytics could still see large losses.
- Be prepared for further declines.

Seeking Alpha Onboarding
New authors have to undergo a period of establishment on Seeking Alpha. Assuming an author is able to communicate their ideas clearly, they enter a period of close observation and additional training, if necessary.
In this period, we carefully review an author’s work, probe for errors, and give tips for their development. In addition, we closely monitor the reaction of our community to new authors. Once we believe we understand the author’s strengths and weaknesses, the author enters our normal editorial channels. If you have any suggestions for our process, we are always happy to hear them.
