Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the added 0.59% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:), which rose 10.00% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Radiant Opto-Electronics Corp (TW:) added 9.91% or 5.80 points to end at 64.30 and Universal Microelectronics Co Ltd (TW:) was up 9.88% or 2.55 points to 28.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Chateau International Development Co Ltd (TW:), which fell 6.33% or 2.05 points to trade at 30.35 at the close. Episil-Precision Inc (TW:) declined 4.00% or 3.00 points to end at 72.00 and Jourdeness Group Ltd (TW:) was down 3.98% or 5.00 points to 120.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 481 to 284 and 149 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.20% or 0.14 to $69.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $74.48 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.80 to trade at $1222.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.05% to 30.590, while TWD/CNY rose 0.23% to 0.2216.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 94.53.
