Very true and it applies to any relationship not just personal relationships.
Business relationships, employment, where you live and even major things you own (houses, cars etc) are in the same category. Too many take the easy option and suffer when it would have been far better to endure some short term pain and move on.
I’m all for trying to make things work but a point comes where the probability of fixing whatever the problem is becomes too small to be credible. Once that point arrives it’s foolish to cling to what was or could have been but isn’t and likely never will be again.
Once that point comes you need to find someone else to do business with. Get a different job. Move somewhere you’d like to live. Sell the car you’ve got and buy the one you want. Etc. Key is to actually do it and that’s where many fail.
